Couples Therapy
Pam has a keen interest in couples counselling and is a Certified Gottman Therapist which is the highest level of training in the Gottman Method. Pam is the only couples therapist east of Ontario with this designation. The Gottman Institute, which is in Seattle, was created by Drs. John and Julie Gottman to help couples who are looking for relationship tools that work. The Gottman Relationship Institute applies leading-edge research on marriage to practical down-to-earth therapy, and trains therapists committed to helping couples. No other approach to understanding why couples succeed or fail has relied on such intensive, detailed, and long-term scientific study.
Pam sees couples at all stages of a relationship such as:
- couples who want to make sure they have the tools they need before they commit to marriage
- couples who want to improve their friendship and how they are managing conflict
- couples who are wondering if they should stay together
- couples who are trying to recover after a betrayal or affair
